Grain elevators and their control systems are at the centre of our agricultural work. The motors, sensors, and controls that move and monitor grain have to keep running through the busiest weeks of the year, and the electrical work around them is heavy, often three-phase, and unforgiving of a half-done repair. Grain handling and drying is one of the highest-stakes electrical loads on a farm. A control, a motor, or a transfer switch that fails in October, when the crop is coming off and the weather is closing in, costs real money and real quality.
